The flit of a brush like a moth's flapping wing again and again over a surface, layering paint into air, life, fur and form fascinates me.   My paintings are the result of an exploration of this, through a touch with paint which swings between graphic and shrouded.  Through this, they have been said to have instances of meeting one’s eye, as if being viewed through tears.  From life, memory and imagination, enigmatic spaces occupied by nameable and unnamable objects unfold.  The thin skinned paintings that have resulted are about spirit, wit and life (still or otherwise).
